Welcome to my little corner of the world!

Hello, my name is Teresa Simpson. I graduated from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, in 2015 with a Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and Philosophy.
When I was young, I decided I would be a writer, so that’s what I spent four years studying. Poetry was what I had my heart set on the most.
I always had big dreams that I couldn’t wholly reign in. I wanted to do many different things, from pursuing a passion for music to making crafts to sell, but after college, I got caught in the 9-5, working in grocery stores and fast food restaurants.
I felt like I had wasted all that time I spent studying writing, so when 2020 came around, I quit my deli job and started throwing myself into writing poetry and trying to create an online presence to get my writing out there. I read endless books and internet pages about Copywriting and Freelancing.
I needed a steady income, though, so I applied when a local Newspaper was hiring for reporters. Now, I spend my days reporting the news and triumphs of the community that makes up my small county.
Dreams don’t die that easy, though, so after many failed attempts at starting my website and getting my writing out there, I’m throwing my extra time into this passion project.
I’ve always wanted to connect with my writing because the written word has power.
My dream life would include traveling and sharing my journey through my words.
I’m a driven individual, and when I set my mind to something, no matter how long it takes or how much work I need to do to achieve it, I will give my all.
So if you’re here, and you made it this far. Please stay awhile; we’ll see where this crazy dream takes me together.
Also, never be afraid to show me you’re here supporting me because I won’t hesitate to root for you in achieving your dreams. It’s always a little scary to be vulnerable, and put yourself out there.
Welcome to my little corner of the world!

“You who suffer because you love, love still more. To die of love, is to live by it. Teach the ignorant as much as you can; society is culpable in not providing a free education for all and it must answer for the night which it produces. If the soul is left in darkness sins will be committed.” ~Victor Hugo
